Who are we and What are we doing here?

We are a casual, contemporary church that doesn't take ourselves too seriously, but we take our mission very seriously. Our mission is to reach out into our community with a real demonstration of the love of Christ seeking to help others grow in their relationship to God.

The two words that we hear most often to describe our church are Family and Real.

We are pleased that those who visit us say consistently that they were made to feel welcome and that they could really feel the sense of family that exists among our folks.

To us, church isn't just a Sunday morning event.

It is a relationship that exists among people who are on a journey together seeking to grow in their relationship to God and to face the struggles of today with help and support of those who are willing to walk beside us and to celebrate the triumphs of our lives with good friends.

This sense of family helps us to be real with one another.
We are "real" in a couple of different senses:

1) We are tired (as you are) of the pomp and pretense that is exhibited in so many churches today. Somehow people have come to believe that to be a Christian means to put on their Sunday best, act as if everything in their lives is peachy and impress each other with their "spirituality." What we all really need is to be real with each other. We need to be with people who aren't afraid of being themselves, who are willing to admit their failures and willing to encourage others with their successes.

2) We consider the message of the Bible to be a real one with real implications for our lives. It is not some outmoded, outdated document that must be twisted and bent to become "relevant" to our lives. By its very nature as the living Word of God, the Bible is the most relevant statement to man and about man that exists. Without it, we are doomed to living a life without direction or purpose- but with it, we live lives which make a difference.

Our goal is to encourage each other in making that difference and to walk this journey of faith together.
